Staying near Porto-Pollo: the north shore of the Valinco, 25 minutes away

Porto-Pollo is on the north shore of the Gulf of Valinco, about a 25-minute drive from Casa Mare e Macchia. Its beach has lifeguards in summer, Cupabia and its dunes are in the same municipality, and diving clubs head out from the area. In the evening, you come back to sleep in Propriano, above the gulf.
The drive
About 25 minutes from the house
Allow about 25 minutes' drive to Porto-Pollo, and about thirty to Cupabia beach. In July and August, allow longer.

What to do at Porto-Pollo and Cupabia
The lifeguarded beach
The municipality of Serra-di-Ferro has Porto-Pollo beach supervised in summer, with the SNSM: two lifeguards, from 1 July to 31 August, from 11am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday. These are the hours for the 2025 season. Two municipal rules worth knowing: no smoking on the beach, and alcohol is banned there from 9pm to 6am, from 1 May to 30 September.
Cupabia, the windsurfers' bay
In the same municipality, Cupabia is a fine-sand beach with crystal-clear water, which Visit Corsica describes as very popular with windsurfers. Trails waymarked by the Parc naturel régional de Corse start from the beach. Behind it, the Cupabia dunes and the Porto-Pollo juniper woodland are listed as natural areas of ecological interest: the municipality sees in them “a biological monument of plant life”, and the finest juniper woodland in Corsica.
Diving
Among the clubs in the area, the Sartenais Valinco Taravo tourist office lists 3P Porto Pollo Plongée. For dives, levels and prices, check with the club.

Planning your day from the house
In summer, lifeguard cover at Porto-Pollo starts at 11am. Breakfast for the suites is served from 8am to 10.30am: you can take your time over it, and reach the beach just as the lifeguards take up their posts.
Villa guests can ask for a picnic basket for the day, with contents and price given on request. Beach towels are provided, in the suites as in the villa.
When you get back, the house pool is waiting for you: infinity-edge, heated, salt water, open all year. If you are staying in a suite, the Pool Lounge serves by the water until 8pm. Filitosa is also about 25 minutes from the house, if you want to keep a morning for the statue-menhirs.
Suite or villa?
As a couple, a suite is all you need. Luna is level with the pool, Nina has its large private terrace on the top floor. Both are 30 m².
