At Casa Mare e Macchia, the infinity pool overlooks the Gulf of Valinco. It is heated, with salt water, and open all year. Around it, two 30 m² B&B rooms, Luna and Nina. The house has no others.
A heated saltwater infinity pool
The pool lies at the end of the large terrace, facing the gulf. Sun loungers and towels are provided, and access is included in the price of the suite.
Two house rules concern it. Children are welcome from the age of 12. The pool is unsupervised.
Luna, level with the water
Luna is on the first floor, level with the pool. Its sun loungers are private: you open the picture window, take a few barefoot steps, and you are in the water. It is also the suite you leave latest, at 11am, against 10am for the rest of the house.
Nina, the pool one floor below
Nina occupies the top floor, with its large private terrace and outdoor lounge. The pool and its sun loungers are still yours to use: you go down for a swim, then back up to your terrace. We describe the view from each suite on another page.
Both suites have a queen bed, a walk-in shower, a dressing room and air conditioning. The rooms are soundproofed.
A day by the water
Breakfast opens the day, from 8am to 10.30am, in the garden or in the large open kitchen, as an option at €25 per person.
Then, the Pool Lounge serves by the water, every day from 10.30am to 8pm, for suite guests:
- 10.30am to 6pm: coffees, teas, artisanal Corsican lemonades;
- noon to 6pm: a light menu, with the chef's suggestions;
- 3pm to 8pm: cocktails, and alcohol-free drinks;
- 6pm to 8pm: the aperitif, with boards of Corsican charcuterie and cheeses.
Service is subject to availability and on request, and the menu, with its prices, is available on site. To end the day, massages are given on site, from €80.
Want the sea as well? Baracci beach is the closest to the house, and Portigliolo, more than three kilometres of sand, is ten minutes away. Beach towels are provided.
Who shares the pool?
The house has only two suites, for two people each. To have the pool to yourselves, rent the whole villa, for up to four guests: when the villa is booked, the suites are not, and vice versa. The details are on our page on the villa for four.
