Campomoro closes off the Gulf of Valinco to the south, about 25 minutes' drive from Casa Mare e Macchia. The Genoese tower, the beach and the start of the coastal path fit into one day, provided you arrive early to park. In the evening, you come back to Propriano, to the pool and then to the table.

The drive

25 minutes away from the house

Allow about 25 minutes' drive from the house, longer in July and August.

Parking decides the day. The site's manager advises arriving early to find a space. Beyond the marina, car access is reserved for residents. There is a charge for the beach car park. If you set off walking, allow twenty minutes on foot from the village to Bassa Torra, where the path begins.

The Genoese tower

At 15 metres, it is the largest Genoese tower in Corsica, surrounded by a star-shaped fortified wall. It has been listed as a historic monument since 1992. You walk up to it from the village, and entry costs €2.50, free for under-12s. Visit Corsica gives its opening season as April to early October, with dates that vary from year to year.

The beach

A sheltered bay, fine sand and a gentle slope. Swimming is supervised in July and August. The beach holds the Una Piaghja per Tutti label: an access mat, a bathing wheelchair and washrooms adapted for people with reduced mobility.

The coastal path

The path leads to the Senetosa lighthouse in about five hours, along a coast with no road. For a shorter outing, the Pozzi loop takes an hour and a half. You can also join the path from the south, from Tizzano.

The coves, by sea

After the Canuseddu plain, the path passes Cala d'Agulia. You reach this cove on foot or by boat, from Propriano harbour. We tell you about the coves with no road in a separate article.

Opening times, the loops and the history of the tower are in our article on Campomoro.

Planning your day from the house

The beach and tower day.

You leave early, you park, you walk up to the tower before the heat, then come back down to the beach. In summer, the lifeguards are there in July and August.

The walking day.

The manager recommends good shoes, water, sun protection, and caution in strong winds. Fires and wild camping are prohibited. Villa guests can ask for a picnic basket “for a day in a cove or on the trails”.

The day at sea.

You board at Propriano harbour, three minutes from the house. Boat hire, a trip with a skipper, a whole day: tell us the day before what would make you happy, and we take care of the rest. In a suite, the concierge service is included.

When you get back, the heated pool is waiting, open all year. Suite guests have the Pool Lounge aperitif from 6pm to 8pm, and in the evening, L'Atelier des Sens lays its long table at 8pm, by reservation.

Suite or villa?

As a couple, the suites are all you need: Luna level with the pool, Nina and its large terrace on the top floor.

For four, the whole villa suits days on the trail: the fitted kitchen for dinner, the picnic basket on request for lunch, the pool to yourselves when you get back. The house welcomes children from the age of 12.

Magnificent, immaculate and with an unbeatable view. Make sure you book one of their gourmet dinners.Lana · Airbnb
